Got there just in time.....

Tonight when I got to work (20 or so minutes early), one of the cashiers had just taken an order for literally a busload of people (they were a team). I started to work five minutes later, so I actually didn't have to serve them. Their order turned out to be nearly $200. I am so glad I got there when I did (and not any sooner) because I liked having as little to do with the order as I did (I just made the fries). So today's favourite thing is arriving in the nick of time to miss hellish orders.

Yet another thing my sister got me addicted too.....

A couple years ago, I came to Ottawa for a week to visit my sister. She had just gotten really into the game the Sims 2 and decided to show it to me. I ended up playing it most of the visit, couldn't stop thinking about my characters when I got home, played it much of the time on subsequent visits and, now that I am living with her, I usually tend to play it before I go to bed at night. When I first started playing, I had absolutely no idea what to do. My sister ended up having to fix my characters because they were doing quite terribly. I have figured it out since and haven't screwed up my new characters too badly.
It seems like such a basic game, fulfulling the characters wants and needs, so they don't get depressed or die, but it definitely draws you in. The Sims 2 is the basic game, and the subsequent expansion packs allow you to do more.
Once you get into it, it can be quite addicting and I often stay up much too late because I want to fix a problem or seem how something turns out. It's technically my sister's game, which I play on her computer, but she hasn't actually played the game since I moved in with her since I kind of hijacked her computer (it's in the same room I sleep in. Not to worry, she's pretty much hijacked my laptop. I got the better end of the deal. Mwa ha ha ha)

My evil, evil sister has this ability to get me hooked on to various things. Many of the things that I enjoy, particularily of the TV variety, it is because she is the one that said you should watch this. And I do. And I pretty much get hooked. It's happened with the Office, Bones, Buffy and to a lesser extent Angel. Yesterday she taught me a solitaire game that I had a difficult time not playing today. So when I know that I have gotten her interested in a particular show it makes me happy. The shows that I started getting her to watch have been Big Bang Theory, Chuck and 30 Rock. Knowing that I am the reason that she watches those shows makes me quite happy and I feel that is justifiable payback for all of the shows she's hooked me on over the years. So today's favourite thing is getting my sister interested in stuff and then not telling her how it ends.
